Aquilla King passed away July 18, 2016. Born May 25, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Mallie and Quinettie King. She was preceded in death by her husband Rufus A. King, two brothers Gordon and Millard King and two sisters Verena Sorrell and Agatha Johnson. She is survived by her daughter Carol and son-in-law Alan Johnson of Raleigh.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 21, 2016 at Ebenezer Community Baptist Church 7808 Ebenezer Church Road, Raleigh, NC with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
Flowers are welcome or memorial contributions in Aquilla's name may be made to Lawndale Manor, Activity Fund, PO Box 1325 Garner, NC 27529.

I worked with Aquilla at Northern Telecom many years ago. She was a fine, friendly, and genuine friend to all that met her. I often thought of her even after we parted ways on how she was doing and where she lived. My condolences go out to her family. She was well thought of.
