Dear Randall,
I just heard of Elizabeth's passing from a friend in Burlington.
I am her cousin in Greensboro.
I was very close to Sue, who was more like a big sister to me. I know how very much she loved Elizabeth and all of your family.
I have many beautiful memories of Elizabeth as a child .
I send my love and heartbreak of her loss to you and your family.

I learned of this last night and remain in shock as I know you are. But I still smile about one of your retrievers (Sailor) coming to visit our house to visit on a daily basis many years ago and Elizabeth´s patience with his wanderings. Prayers and condolences.

I had the pleasure of communicating with Elizabeth several times over the years in her capacity as Chancellor Guskiewicz´s assistant. She was always kind, courteous, and gracious in all her correspondence with me. UNC has lost a devoted servant, and South Building a steady rock.
