Joseph Gower Obituary
April 26, 1929 – October 12, 2014
Raleigh
Joseph N. Gower, 85, died on Sunday. Born in Johnston County, he was the son of the late Exum and Victoria Gower. For 43 years, he was in the dry cleaning business in Raleigh.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Highland Baptist Church. Entombment will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the church from 1-2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Myra Gower; sons, Joey Gower of the home and Kelvin Gower and wife, Amy of Matthews, NC; grandchildren, Lance Gower and Paige Gower; brothers, Bill Gower, Clarence Gower and Tom Gower, all of Raleigh.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Frances Gower and brother, Frank Gower.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Highland Baptist Church, Building Fund, 8524 Crowder Road, Raleigh, NC 27603.
