Parker Stephenson Obituary

Parker Ross Stephenson

December 27, 1990 - May 30, 2018

Cary

Parker was born in Raleigh, NC, the third son of Diane and Will Stephenson, on December 27, 1990. He grew up in Cary among his extended family members. He loved his family and his numerous friends. Parker graduated from Cary High School in 2009.

He met and married the love of his life, Celeste Patterson, on January 7, 2017. He adored his son Brantley and was looking forward to the birth of his daughter, Ryleigh, in September.

Parker was an encourager to everyone he met. He was a great writer, and was passionate about his conservative beliefs. He was not afraid to speak his mind and would say what he believed even if he felt inadequate in saying it. He loved music and playing his guitar; he always treated people with kindness and loved his family. His granddaddy was his hero. He enjoyed playing basketball at Cary High School and was an avid Duke fan. Parker's disease cannot touch the pure and true part of him. It never did and never could. His heart was pure and his love for his family was so deep. That love will always remain.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, William and Judith Stephenson.

Parker is survived by his wife, Celeste Patterson Stephenson; son, Brantley Joseph Stephenson; daughter, Ryleigh Blaine Stephenson; parents, Will and Diane Stephenson; brothers, William, Martin and his wife Cassidy, Kendell and his wife Rachel, and Cameron and girlfriend Breanna Clayton; grandparents, David and Marilyn Martin; in-laws, Darran and Annette Patterson; Nephew, Mason Stephenson; nieces, Emma and Della Stephenson; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins; and second mom, Myra Gammon.

Visitation for the family to receive friends will be Monday, June 4, from 5:00-8:00 PM at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 Southeast Maynard Road, Cary, NC 27511. Parker's funeral service will be Tuesday, June 5, 11:00 AM at Hope Community Church, 821 Buck Jones Rd, Raleigh, NC 27606, and interment to follow at Raleigh Memorial Park, 7501 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh, NC 27612

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to an account that has been established for the education of Parker's children. Checks may be made out to Suntrust Bank and mailed to 2103 West Marilyn Circle, Cary, NC 27513. There will be a gift box at the funeral service for these donations.

I am so sorry for the loss of your son. Parker sounds like he was a great guy and a loving family person who will be missed by many. It is so tragic to read that he had a wife, a young child and a baby on the way. My heart goes out to you and your family at this very difficult and painful time.
Sincerely, Mara Lewis (Mom of Kenny who passed away at the age of 15 from osteosarcoma)

My heart goes out to the family of this fine young man who left us too soon. My son died this year at age 30 from an accidental overdose. There are no words for the grief I know you are experiencing. The sadness is deep and wide but also a holy thing. Be kind to yourselves and nurture your hearts of grief as you remember that wonderful child of God.
