Joseph Michalek Obituary
Joseph L. Michalek, a lifelong New Milford, CT, resident passed away Saturday, April 28, 2018 in New Milford Hospital surrounded by his family at the age of 82.
He was born March 4, 1936 son of the late Joseph and Jadwiga (Cebula) Michalek.
Joe retired from Kimberly-Clark in 2003. He also worked at Scovil/Century Brass. He liked watching NASCAR races and working on his car.
He is survived by his wife Janet (Scheller) of New Milford, CT; daughter Dawn; son Gregory (Sharon) Michalek; grandchildren Rachel, Ben and Alexander (AJ). He is also survived by his cousins Dorothy DeCosa, Ron (Charlene) Michalek, Jim (Barbara) Babiyan, Ed (Barbara) Babiyan and many more. Sister-in-law Robin (Frank) Vairo and Roberta Scheller and 17 nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his in-laws Ernest and Elizabeth Scheller and sister-in-law Joyce Burden.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Church in New Milford followed by the interment in Center Cemetery in New Milford.
