Raymond Davis Obituary

Raymond A. "Jeff " Davis, 87 of Cortlandt Manor, passed away August 4, 2006.
Mr. Davis was born in Bronx, N.Y. on April 6, 1919, to Henry E. and Mary Joy Davis.
Mr. Davis was an engineer for New York Telephone in New York City, retiring in the early 1980's.
He served in the U.S. Army, attaining the rank of 1st Lieutenant. He was a combat engineer in WW II and was recalled back to serve in teh Korean conflict. On December 27, 1943, he married the love of his life, Mary Duffy at St. Jerome Church in the Bronx.
He is survived by his wife, Mary "May" Davis of Cortlandt Manor; three sons: Raymond A. Davis, Jr. of Apex, N.C.; Gerard Davis of Harrisburg, Pa.; and Ronald Davis of Beacon, N.Y.; two daughters: Kathleen (Joseph) Moker of New Milford; and Marianne (Jeffrey) Bischoff of Cortlandt Manor, N.Y. He was the brother of Joseph Davis of Bayshore, Long Island; Rita Marvez of Coral Gables, Fla.; Mary Hayes of Closter, N.J. and Patricia McDonald of Tampa, Fla. Also survived by his grandchildren: Eva Marie Compolattaro, Robin Isidro, Jennifer Dugas, Trisha Davis, Brian, Stephen and Michael Moker and Christine and Kimberly Bischoff and eight great-grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Jospeh F. Nardone Funeral Home. The funeral home Mass is Monday at 10 a.m. at the Assumption Church, Peekskill, N.Y. Interment to follow at the Assumption Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memphis, TN or the Calvary Hospice Hospital, 1740 Eastchester Road, Bronx, N.Y.
