Margaret Mary Duffield, 95, of Ladd passed away September 2, 2021 surrounded by her three sons at Liberty Village in Princeton.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Nativity of Our Lord in Spring Valley with Rev. Scott Potthoff officiating. Burial will be in Henry Cemetery. Visitation will be in the church on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services. The Hurst Funeral Home in Ladd is assisting the family with arrangements.
Margaret was born in Peoria on February 26, 1926 to Francis and Marie (Beur) Ulrich. She graduated high school from Academy of Our Lady in Peoria and St. Francis School of Nursing in Peoria. She married Lloyd "Bud" Duffield on October 23, 1948. They were married for 61 years. They made their home in Ladd, where they raised their four sons.
Margaret worked as a private duty nurse and as an OB nurse at St. Margaret's Hospital in Spring Valley. She was a member of St. Benedict's Church in Ladd. Margaret was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed being with her family. She was an avid Cubs fan. Before moving to the nursing home, Margaret had a special caregiver, Joanie Pozzi. She also had a special cousin, Ken McGann of Peoria.
Margaret is survived by her three sons, Mike (Pat) Duffield of Ladd, Steve (Sally) Duffield of Ladd, Brian (Nicolette) Duffield of Spring Valley; 15 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren with two on the way; and three sisters-in-law, Sue Nuehaflen of Henry, Kathleen (Louie) Stahl of Oswego, and Delores Duffield of Henry.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd on February 9, 2007, and one son, Donald Duffield on August 12, 2021.
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
