Patricia (Stefko) Pescetto, 78, of Peru, passed away Monday, August 29, 2022 at the Ottawa Pavilion, after an extended illness.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, September 2, 2022 at Holy Trinity Church, Cherry with Rev. Scott Potthoff officiating. Visitation will be 5-8:00 PM Thursday at the Mueller Funeral Home, Peru with a liturgical prayer service at 4:45 PM. Additional visitation will be 10-10:50 AM Friday at the church. The family kindly requests that those attending services wear masks.
Mrs. Pescetto was born February 17, 1944 in Spring Valley to Joseph and Doris (Hartig) Stefko. She married Paul Pescetto on August 22, 1964 at Holy Trinity Church in Cherry. They lived in Peru their entire married life.
Mrs. Pescetto was a 1964 graduate of St. Francis School of Nursing in Peoria and she worked as a registered nurse at Illinois Valley Community Hospital in Peru for 35 years. Her greatest joy in life was caring for her husband and family and being out in her yard and garden. She loved her family dearly and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and watching them excel at sports and activities. She was an avid Chicago Cubs, Bulls and Bears fan.
Survivors include her husband, Paul; three sons, Paul (Wendy) Pescetto of Twin Lakes, WI, Steven (Tracy) Pescetto of Yorkville and Scott (Rachel) Pescetto of Oglesby; one daughter, Amy (Ron) Copeland of Oglesby; five grandchildren, Kylee Copeland, Anthony and Jack Pescetto and April and Zachary Pescetto; her sister-in-law, Camilla Boston and many wonderful nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Marge (Jerry) Martinkus and Lynn (Ron) Raef and her brother, Joseph Stefko.
