Patricia Zellers Obituary

Patricia Zellers
Born: October 20, 1959 in Marseilles, IL
Died: December 12, 2022 in Spring Valley, IL
Spring Valley, IL - Patricia D. Zellers, 63, of Spring Valley passed away unexpectedly at home after a brief illness on Monday, December 12.
Pat was born October 20, 1959 in Marseilles IL to the late James and Judith (Roe) Mosier. She married Thomas Zellers on August 27, 1976.
Pat was the mother to Kimberly (Shute) and Shawn Zellers. She was the grandmother to Abbie and Alivia Shute and Cole and Fen Zellers.
Pat was an avid gardener who loved being outside with her hands in the dirt and tending to an enormous indoor plant collection. She loved reading, cooking, and baking for her family and friends.
Those hobbies paled in comparison to her true passion in life, being a mother and grandmother.
Pat was one of the eldest of 8 siblings, and she knew from an early age she wanted a family of her own to care for. She raised her children Kimberly and Shawn to never know the horrors of a frozen meal or store-bought Halloween costume. She worked tirelessly throughout their childhood to give them everything they needed, and most of what they wanted, except sugar cereal.
Pat returned to the workforce once her children were in high school, but blissfully and without regret retired when her first grandchild was born so that she could raise her, and then her sister for their working mother.
She ushered Abbie and Alivia Shute through their childhood with the same love, attention, and pride that she raised her kids; spoiling them rotten, but still not allowing sugar cereal.
Her grandsons Cole and Fen Zellers, who live in Ann Arbor, Michigan received the same boundless love and energy from afar when she couldn't be there to love on them in person.
Everyone who knew Pat knows that she was the kindest, most generous and giving person, doing anything she could to bring happiness to others without ever asking for anything in return.
Pat is survived by her husband, her children, and grandchildren, siblings David (JoAnn) Mosier, of Wisconsin, Thomas Mosier, of Arizona, Kathy (Tom) Kampa, of Wisconsin, Steven (Joni) Mosier, of Michigan, Nora (Kevin) Brewster, of Michigan, Lisa (Steven) Bosen, of Michigan, and Angie (Chuck) Shockey of Utica, many aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother James Mosier Jr. and granddaughter Aerin Shute.
In accordance with Pat's wishes, cremation rights have been accorded and no funeral services will be held.
A celebration of life will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17 at Downtown Event Center 432 S. Main St., Princeton.

My mother was an entirely selfless person whom possessed the ability to truly listen. She was sincere thoughtful and careful.
She not only appreciated the simple things in life, she gave equal attention to the mundane. Mom shared the things she loved with those around her. Loosing her is a space that can never be filled, but she filled her family with kindness and love that will live on through our generations. Think of her when you plant your flowers, bake your pies, and for goodness sake, wash your dishes.
