TOLUCA – William R. "Bill" Baker, 83, of Toluca passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2023 at Henry Nursing and Rehab in Henry.
His funeral service was Thursday, January 12, 2023, at St. John Lutheran Church in Toluca with Rev. Mauricio Vieira officiating. Visitation was at the church. Burial was at St. John Cemetery, Toluca.
Memorials may be given to a charity of the donor's choice. Calvert-Johnson & Froelich Memorial Home in Toluca is in charge of arrangements.
William R. Baker was born in Streator on November 7, 1939, a son to Richard L. and Inez Folken Baker. He married Judy Zukowski at St. Hyacinth Church in LaSalle on February 5, 1966. She survives.
Also surviving are his daughter, Kari Baker Dalton, Toluca; grandchildren, Bri Lutz, Drew Dalton, Ryker Bailey, Landon Bailey, Eden Bailey, Alayna Borgswardt; great-grandchildren, Adalynn Lutz, Leo Dalton; and a sister Donna (John "Doc" Peters) Baker, Poway, CA.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Lori Baker Bailey; and a sister Debbie Falk.
William served in the United States Army. He worked for Pabst Brewery in Peoria for over 20 years and later he worked for Fieldcrest Middle School. He liked to hunt and fish. Most of all he cherished the love of his family who he was devoted to. He was the most kind and a generous husband, dad, grandpa, great-grandpa, brother and friend and he will be dearly missed.
