David D. Sparks

FRANKLIN, Ind. - David D. Sparks, 43, of Franklin, Indiana passed on away Sunday, August 17, 2014 at Franciscan St. Francis Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born on April 28, 1971 in Salem, Indiana. He had been a driver for Heritage Crystal Clean in Indianapolis for 5 years. He was a member of Nineveh Christian Church and he enjoyed drag racing, building race cars, motorcycles and the outdoors, and was a warm hearted, loving man who cared for his wife, children and his family. His son Logan Sparks was his world and his extended children as well. He married Mindy (Kottlowski) Benge Sparks on July 19, 2014 in Franklin; she survives. Other survivors include his children, Logan D. Sparks, Chesney B. Benge and Brody T. Benge, all of Franklin; his mother, Janie (Sparks) Ingersoll of Franklin; his mother-in-law, Teri Johnson and step-father-in-law, Don Johnson of Nineveh, Indiana; his sister, Sylvia Anuez (Manolo); stepbrothers, Bobby Ingersoll and Nathan Ingersoll, both of Mobile, Alabama and Winfield Ingersoll of Okeechobee, Florida; step-sister, Linda Robertson (Dave) of Okeechobee, Florida; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Ingersoll; grandparents Henry and Elsie Sparks; and stepbrother, Van Ingersoll. Reverend Tom Knight and Reverend Don Klutz will conduct a service on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 S. Morton Street (US 31) in Franklin. Friends may call on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the mortuary. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.
