Marie G. Otersen

WARWICK, N.Y. - Marie G. Otersen, 97, died Friday, Dec. 27, 2013, at Schervier Pavilion in Warwick, N.Y. Ms. Otersen, daughter of the late Herman and Valerie Otersen, was born in New Jersey May 2, 1926. She had resided in Cambria Heights, N.Y., for most of her life recently moving to Warwick, N.Y.

Ms. Otersen was a hair stylist for 35 years. She enjoyed the time she would spend at the horse races, especially at Belmont Park.

Ms. Otersen was predeceased by a sister, Valerie Sammon, and a niece, Christine Sammon. She is survived by a sister, Helen Otersen, of Warwick, N.Y.; cousin, Robert Pellet and his wife, Betty, of Highland Lakes; second cousins, Jennifer Pellet and her husband, Michael Gelfand, of Highland Lakes and Jeff Pellet of Clifton.

A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 31, at Ferguson-Vernon Funeral Home, 241 Route 94 (1 Vanderhoof Court for GPS), Vernon. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Fairview, N.J.
