Adele Vead Desoto Laborde

Adele Vead Desoto Laborde, age 93, went home to her peaceful rest on Wednesday, February 12, 2014. Beloved wife of the late Tillman John Desoto by first marriage and the late Anthony Laborde by second marriage. Mother of Tillman Desoto, Sr. (the late Jane Desoto) and the late Donna Desoto Bordelon. Grandmother of JoAnn Bordelon Pitre, Diana Ferrari, Ethel Faye, Mark Desoto, Tillman ""Jay"" Desoto, Jr. and the late James Desoto, Sr. Sister of Florence Craft and the late Carrie Stewart, Effie Savoy, Arden Vead, Theresa Stringer and Irene Vinot. Daughter of the late Joseph Vead and Elda Laborde Vead. Also survived by many great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Mrs. Laborde was a native of Echo, LA and a lifelong resident of New Orleans and Metairie, LA. Mrs. Laborde's family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Wynhoven Healthcare Center for their wonderful care and compassion. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Blvd., near Clearview Pkwy., in Metairie, LA on Saturday, February 15, 2014 beginning at 9:00 AM with a Funeral Mass to follow at 2:00 PM in Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home's chapel.
