Carole Weller Obituary

Carole Ann Breithoff Weller, a native of New Orleans, died at age 82 years, at Ochsner Hospital on Tuesday, April 11, 2017, of complications from cancer. Her survivors include her husband, Francis G. Weller, Esq.; sons Franz Jude Weller, Frederick Breithoff Weller, and Garald P. Weller, Esq.; and brothers Charles Breithoff and William J. Breithoff and 5 grandchildren: Francis, Theo, Emily, Azalea and Hank Weller. A graduate of Loyola Business School and Loyola Law School (Class of 1958), Carole was one of the first 50 female lawyers in the State of Louisiana. She continued to practice law until 6 months ago, and she argued before the Louisiana Fourth Circuit Court of Appeal only 2 months before she was diagnosed with renal cancer. Carole was able to balance a law practice with raising a family, at a time when this type of dual role was almost unheard-of. Her unconditional love for her husband and sons lasted until the very end of her life; and she strove to help and protect her children, even into their adulthood. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, April 17, 2017 at 11:30 a.m., at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 6666 Spanish Fort Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124. There will be visitation 2 hours prior to the service. Funeral services will be handled by Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124. The burial services will be at Greenwood Cemetery. The family invites you to share your thoughts, fond memories, and condolences online, at www.greenwoodfh.com.

Our time and memories will always be cherished and never forgotten you fought a good fight. But God need you more in heaven now. So take wings and fly away because I know you will keep watch over us. Your Girl
