Gloria Marie Hotard Hymel

Gloria Marie Hotard Hymel finally found the peace she deserved when she passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Thursday, March 18th, 2021 at the age of 82. Gloria was a resident of Marrero, Louisiana who was born to the late, Melancent Hotard and Lucy Daigle Kass, and her step mother, Edith Hotard. She was the loving wife of Gene Will Hymel, Sr. for 37 years. Gloria was the devoted mother to Gina Fitch (Michael), Gerri Tucker (Tommy), her favorite daughter Shawn Lynch (Danny), and Gene Hymel, Jr. (Jennifer). She was called Gran by her grandchildren Michael II (Doty), Dominique (Brian), Jeffery (Kami), Amy, Heather (Brandon), Gabrielle, Madison, Makenzie, Carsyn, Taylor, and Lauren, her great grandchildren Nathan, Luke, Easton, Hayes, Colton, Harley, Jayden, Gabriel, Tucker, Hunter, Garrett, Ella, Helen, and Adele. Gloria was the sister to Delvin Hotard, Ray Hotard, Howard Hotard, Randy Hotard, David Hotard, Ashton Hotard, Vickie Clement, Peggy Brazan, Carolyn Falgoust, and the late Charlie Hotard, Authur Hotard, Leona Breaux, William "Buster" Kass, and Stephen Kass. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly. Gloria was a wonderful mother and wife who dedicated her life to raising her children and taking care of her husband. She was a great cook, she loved to clean, she enjoyed gardening and she was the world's greatest organizer. Her eyes lit up when she talked about her grandchildren and great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, March 22nd, 2021 at 10:00am in the chapel of Westside/Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway in Marrero, Louisiana.
