Northfield - Kevin Christopherson, age 53, passed away peacefully with his family by his side, on Tuesday morning, June 4, 2024, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN.
Kevin Cleve Christopherson was born on November 9, 1970, in Marshall, Minnesota, to Iver and Ina (Lovsness) Christopherson. He grew up in Redwood Falls and graduated high school in 1989. In 1993, Kevin graduated from St.Olaf College with a bachelor's degree in Psychology and a minor in Religion. He went on to receive his master's degree in Medical Ethics from Michigan State University. Kevin started dating his wife, Tricia in 1998. After their first date, they were inseparable. They married in 2000 and had four beautiful children that they are raising in Northfield.
Kevin's light shone brightly in his kindness to others. He was a great listener and loved connecting with people and listening to their stories. Family was his top priority. He attended every music, theater or sporting event. Kevin greatly cherished all of his friendships. He was always up for a spontaneous road trip or any kind of adventure. He was passionate about travel and was always planning the next family trip. Their biggest adventure as a family was a year living in Playa del Carmen, Mexico.
Kevin had a great sense of humor and loved a play on words or a ridiculously long joke. He also specialized in physical comedy and memorable dance moves. Kevin was a sports enthusiast and was a go to for anyone who had a question about any sport. Music was in Kevin's heart from choral music to broadway tunes to jamming to Weezer. He loved playing the drums and could make almost any object into some kind of percussion instrument.
His career included work at the MN Center for Health Care Ethics, HCMC, and HealthPartners. He especially loved his current job at Northfield Hospital. He always felt he had found the perfect marriage of his analytical mind and his love of healthcare by working with numbers in a hospital. Survivors include his wife of 24 years Tricia; his children Solvei (21), Greta (17), Odin and Soren (13); his parents Ina and Iver Christopherson of Northfield; his sister Stacy (Phillip) Vollands of Inver Grove Heights; his brother Marshall (Rebecca) of Savage; his in-laws Bev and Ben Farner of Detroit Lakes; along with many beloved in-laws, nieces, nephews, other relatives, dear friends and his dog Poppy.
