Julian Scholl Obituary

SCHOLL Julian S., 94, died at Kendal in Hanover, NH on February 27th, 2008. He was born in Tenafly, NJ, on July 9th, 1913. He graduated from Tenafly High School and Wesleyan University in 1936. He married Katharine Johnson in 1942. He was a captain during World War II, and was employed in the marketing division of the Nestle Company for 41 years. Until 1997 he lived in Englewood, NJ, where he was active in St. Paul's Church, the John Harms Center, the Community Chest, and Dwight School. He retired early to care for his wife Kay, who died from Alzheimers in 1994. He moved to Kendal in 1997. Julian was feisty, spirited and generous; his interest in people and projects, and his infectious laugh endeared him to everyone. He loved to gather his family for vacations. In 1999 he married Florence Mleczko Peet. Besides Flo, he is survived by daughters Barbara Baker-Bury of Brattleboro, VT; Virginia Scholl of Putney, VT; Sally Hedberg of St. Augustine, FL; six grandchildren, and one great-grandson. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 8th at St. Thomas Church, Hanover, NH, at 2 PM. Memorial contributions can be made to the Elm Tree Project, c/o Greensboro Historical Society, Greensboro, VT, 05841.

I will miss our MVCC golfcart rides but will remember his wonderful spirit and the pride he had for his family. He certainly enjoyed summer in Greensboro and never more so then when family arrived to share it.

We will so miss our Unc June. He was the most lovely, interesting and generous person, and another class act in this world, which is much saddened by his passing. And we send our love to you, Flo.
