Nicolino Martino Obituary
Nicolino, 83, of Clifton, passed away on January 21, 2016. Born in Fraine, Italy, Mr. Martino came to the United States in 1948 and settled initially in Paterson. He has resided in Clifton since 1992.
Affectionately known as "Nick the Shoe Maker," Mr. Martino was a self-employed shoe repairman. Before retiring in 1999, he owned and operated Nick's Shoe Repair in Haledon, where he was a beloved member of the community for over 50 years.
He was predeceased by one brother and two sisters.
Survivors include: his beloved wife, Mafalda (nee Pasquini) Martino; two devoted daughters, Maria Angela Martino and Wanda Chandler and her husband, Walter, all of Clifton; one sister, Antoinette Mascelli of Paterson; four grandchildren, Jason Turi and his wife Jenn, Johnny Turi, Danielle Verile and Dana Bazo and her husband Michael; three great-grandchildren, Jaiden, Wren and Angelo; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday 9:15 AM from the Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton and 10 AM at St. Andrew the Apostle R.C. Church, 400 Mt. Prospect Ave., Clifton. Interment to follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Up. Montclair. Visiting will be held on Sunday from 4-8 PM. Please visit www.bizub.com for driving directions and online condolences.
