Pedro A., was born July 5, 1952 in Habana, Cuba and passed away Thursday, May 28, 2015 from incurable liver cancer. He left behind his beloved wife, Amelia, of 40 years and two sons, Michael and Bryant.
Pedro migrated from Cuba with his wife and first born son in 1980 looking to make a better life for his family. He was a Naval Engineer who held a degree in Metallurgical Engineering, but his true passion was Music. Pedro was a true entrepreneur who did many things throughout his life from owning a restaurant, being a successful Real Estate developer; even owning arcades in the 1980's. But again, his true passion was Music, from singing, managing and producing, Pedro has always somehow made Music part of his life.
Pedro started his own record label in the 1990's that had many Latin Artists, one being "La Linea", which became a hit and is actually still touring overseas. Pedro successfully obtained distribution for his small record label with Sony Disco, WEA Latina, Warner Brothers, Universal Music, Wal-Mart, Fonovisa and others. Based on this success, he began to promote other hit Latin Artists such as Enrique Iglesias, Marco Antonio Solis Ana Barbara and others Aside from Artists, Pedro also promoted events including the first major Latin concert in Madison Square Garden with SBS Broadcasting Group; organizing the Mexican Day Parade in NYC and participated in the promotion and organization of the Golden Gloves in 2012 with the Daily News.
One of his most recent projects was managing the career of his son, a Latin-Urban Artist named Sessino who launched two hit singles "Vente Con-migo" and "Que Siga La Fiesta" which ranked in the top 20 on the billboard charts for over 3 months consecutively.
More importantly, Pedro Venegas was a great man, father and husband who will be missed but never forgotten by those who loved him. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 1, 2015 from 5 - 9 p.m. at Morgado Funeral Home, 525 45th Street, Union City, NJ, 07087, phone (201)867-0820.
