Kenneth Lundy Obituary

Kenneth Ray Lundy, 81, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., died at 6:30 a.m., Saturday, at Fort Walton Beach Medical Center.
Kenneth was a natural born caregiver and a person of integrity. He was generous, faithful and loving. He was a blessing to those around him.
Born March 18, 1932, in Daviess County, Ind., he was the son of Joseph and Stella L. Lundy. He was a Shoals High School alumnus. Kenneth graduated in 1950 and enlisted shortly after in the U.S. Air Force. He had exciting and informative tours of duty that took him to Germany, Korea, Japan, The Azores, France, Vietnam and Turkey. He retired in order to spend more time with his family in November 1970 after completing just over 20 years of service. During his 20-year span, the greater portion of his time was devoted to the field of communications, where he specialized in teletype operations. Following his discharge, Kenneth found civilian employment with RCA (later changed to GE). He was a Technical Field Representative in the Washington, D.C. area. He worked on teletypes in locations such as the White House, U.S. Capitol, embassies, Watergate Building and other government offices in the area.
He is survived by his daughters, Helen Lundy of Crestview, Fla., Peggy Craig and her husband, Bruce, of Fort Walton Beach, and Betty Shively and her husband, Greg, of Middletown, Md.; grandchildren, David, Daniel and Lauren Craig, and Patrick and Dylan Shively.
His wife, Esther C. Lundy, of 42 years, died Feb. 8, 2004. Brothers, Robert, Larry, William and Jerry Lundy are also deceased.
The funeral will be held at 10 a.m., on Friday at First Baptist Church of Mary Esther, with Dr. Byron Brown and the Rev. Joe Plott officiating. Burial will be at Barrancus National Cemetery in Pensacola at 2 p.m. with military honors.
