Mary Riley Obituary

Mary Florence Riley, 76 years old, of Crestview passed away Thursday, May 18th, 2017. Mary was born October 13, 1940 in Capon Bridge, WV, and touched the lives of many throughout her lifetime.
Mary was a retired nurse technician and a devoted military wife. She married Harry Riley in Winchester, VA in October of 1963. She interrupted her nursing profession to raise a family and follow her military husband, but resumed her medical career again later on in life. Like all military wives, she was devoted to the mission and national security of America and traveled the world-going wherever her husband was assigned without complaint. Mary went the extra mile and graciously supported the families and spouses that served under her husband. She was known for her unending love and compassion for those around her.
Mary was a devoted Christian with a heart full of Jesus' principles. She loved and treasured her dear friends and sisters in Christ in her prayer group, Mom's in Prayer, and others throughout the community. She loved nature and animals-especially the many baby birds that hatched on her porch and other critters that visited her on her lawn. She also enjoyed cooking, crafts, quilting, reading, and helping others. She was an accomplished artist in many aspects.
Despite her many medical challenges, Mary's faith never wavered from her solid love and devotion to Christ and acceptance of His will for her life. More than once she encountered the great "white light" but Christ sent her back with more work to do. She courageously and lovingly performed her biblical duty throughout her entire lifetime.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Roy Albert McWilliams and Mary Eliza McWilliams. She is survived by her husband: Harry Riley, sister: Jeanette Elba Gross (Roger), children: Mary Kathryn Marino (Charles), Bradley Warren Riley (Molly), and Bryan Wayne Riley, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 24th, beginning at 11:00am from the Chapel of Brackney Funeral Services with Pastor Donnie Cadenhead officiating. Burial will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, FL at 2:00pm. The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 23rd from 6:00-8:00pm at Brackney Funeral Service.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in honor of Mary Riley to the Lupus Foundation of America, Florida Chapter at 2300 High Ridge Road, Suite 375 in Boynton Beach, FL 33426.

So sorry for the family's loss. It's times like these when the loving promises of our heavenly Father can bring us comfort and can soften some of the pain we feel in our hearts. (1 Thessalonians 4:13,14) May God grant you guidance, strength and peace during your time of sorrow.
