Karen Baartz Obituary

Karen Baartz
Born: October 2, 1956 in Neosho, MO
Died: September 3, 2023 in Woodstock, IL
Karen Blanner Baartz, a woman of unwavering dedication and boundless love, passed away on September 3rd, 2023, to be reunited with her Lord. Her legacy will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew and cherished her.
Karen was a beacon of selflessness, demonstrating an extraordinary commitment to her family and a deep appreciation for the wonders of the natural world. Her life was a tapestry of love, laughter, and meaningful pursuits.
In addition to her role as a devoted mother to her five children, Karen, alongside her husband Jim, was the proud owner of Jireh Machining in Woodstock. Before retirement, she also shared her expertise as a sommelier at a local wine shop, enriching the lives of those who crossed her path.
Karen's interests were as diverse as her love for her family. She found joy in the art of sewing, nurturing vibrant gardens, playing board games, and sharing her life with her cherished dog, Gracie. Traveling was another of her great passions, and she eagerly absorbed the culture and essence of every locale she visited.
Every action Karen took was imbued with love, reflecting the depths of her caring heart. Her passing was preceded by her parents, John and Maxine "Mickey" Blanner, her infant brother John, and her son Jimmi. She is survived by her devoted husband of 47 years, Jim, and her children Zandra (Russ) Isert, Jason (Toni) Baartz, Jesse Baartz, and Justin (Melissa) Baartz. Her two beloved grandchildren, Tyler Baartz and Amelia Baartz, and her sisters Kris (the late Laur) Clark and Kathy (Chuck) Clark, along with numerous nieces and nephews, shared in her warmth and love.
In keeping with Karen's wishes, there will be no formal ceremony. Instead, her family will come together to celebrate the beautiful life she lived, the love she shared, and the enduring legacy she leaves behind. Karen Blanner Baartz will forever remain in our hearts, a shining example of kindness, devotion, and a life well-lived.

Karen was a wonderful volunteer for me at the Wildlife Center, she had a genuine love for all animals. I often told her she was a kindred spirit. I am so sorry and offer my deepest condolences to Jim, your children, grandchildren, and your entire family. Rest in peace my dear friend. I will never forget you.
