Marie H. Conlon, age 94, of East Dundee, former many-year resident of Crystal Lake, passed away on Thursday morning, March 23, 2023, at Advocate Sherman Hospital in Elgin. Marie was born in Scranton, PA on May 28, 1928, and was the daughter of the late James & Mary (nee Cusick) McDonnell. On December 29, 1950, she married her husband Edgar P. Conlon. Edgar preceded Marie in death on September 5, 2011, after 60 years of marriage.
Marie was a resident of East Dundee for the past 13 years and was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Church in West Dundee. When living in Crystal Lake, Marie was a longtime and active member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton Church in Crystal Lake.
Survivors include her three sons: Tim (Jill) Conlon, Drew (Rose) Conlon, and Edgar, Jr. (Diane) Conlon; her five grandchildren: Michael Conlon, Nicole (Ross) Ryan, Sean Conlon, Shannon (Logan) Kernohan, and Caitlin Conlon; and her 2 great-grandsons, Lincoln and Mack Ryan. Other survivors include her two brothers, Joe and Jim McDonnell, along with her nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Marie was preceded in death by her brother, John McDonnell, and her sister, Sr. James Marie McDonnell.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 27, 2023, at St. Catherine of Siena Church in West Dundee from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the Mass at 11:00 A.M. Burial will be at the Cathedral Cemetery in Scranton, PA. Please omit flowers. Memorials may be made to Advocate Hospice.
