Eleanor Lesich Obituary

Eleanor "Ellie" Lesich DYER, IN - Eleanor "Ellie" Dykiel Lesich, born January 3, 1918, passed from this earth Saturday, September 2, 2017 at St Anthony Village. She was born in East Chicago, IN and lived most of her adult Life in Dyer, IN. Eleanor was married to the late Joseph (Joe) Lesich and was the beloved mother of Larry (Jeanette) Lesich of St. John. She is also survived by three grandchildren: David (Denise) Lesich of Merrillville; Laura (Greg) Foster of Peoria, IL; and Kristen (Matt) Tusing of Alexandria, VA. She was the wonderful Great-grandma of Morgan and Emily Lesich, Jay and Andy Foster, and Levi and Ellie Tusing. Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband, Joe; parents, Michael and Josephine (Trumpka) Dykiel; brothers: Ervin Zole, Michael Dykiel Jr., Victor Dykiel, and Edward Dykiel; and one sister Julia Mista. Eleanor was an active member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Dyer and worked for many years at Kahler Middle School. She was proud to be a first generation American and loved telling her children about the history of her family. She was known for her excellent cooking, contagious laugh, and love for her family. Friends and family are invited to visit at FAGEN-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 1920 Hart St in Dyer, IN on Thursday, September 7, 2017 from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 8, 2017 beginning with prayers at 10:00 AM at the funeral home for a 10:30 AM Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church, US 30 Dyer. At rest Chapel Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be given to St. Anthony Village, Crown Point.
