Joy M. Hahn

JOY M. HAHN HOBART, IN Joy M. Hahn, age 85, of Hobart, formerly a Glen Park resident for most of her life, passed away Saturday, February 6, 2010 at St. Mary Medical Center in Hobart. Joy attended Lew Wallace High School, Gary Business College and Indiana University in Bloomington and was a long time member of the former 43rd Avenue Presbyterian Church. She served on various boards such as, YWCA, Gary Library and Salvation Army. During her association with the Gary YWCA, she arranged day tours and overseas tours, but was primarily a wife, mother and homemaker. Joy was preceded in death by her parents: Floyd and Hazel (Peyton) Marvin; sister, Patricia Marvin Smurda; and brother, Delbert Marvin. She is survived by her husband, William Hahn; son, David (Charlene) Clary; daughter, Candace Fattore, daughter, Kelly (Ray) Vasquez of Hebron; brother, Daniel (Joan) Marvin of Valparaiso; four grandchildren: Ginger (Joe) Hanenkratt, David (Jessica) Clary II, Benjamin and Christopher Vasquez as well as five great-grandchildren; numerous nieces; nephews; and all of Hobart. Memorial services will be held at Burns Funeral Home, 701 E. 7th St., Hobart on Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at 6:30 p.m. with Rev. Chris Nunley officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday from 2:00 to 6:30 p.m. (time of services).
