Mary Holicky Obituary

Mary V. Holicky (nee Gregor) Whiting, IN Mary V. Holicky, age 88 of Whiting passed away Saturday, June 10, 2006 at the Hammond Whiting Care Center. She was the beloved wife of the late Paul S. Holicky who passed away December 25, 1988. She is survived by four children: Rev. Gregory P. Holicky, Chaplain of the St. Margaret Mercy Healthcare Center, Hammond, James (Sharon) Holicky of Whiting, Joan (Robert) Felicichia of Fort Wayne, IN, Judith (Randy Schaerf) Holicky of Plano, TX; eight grandchildren: three great grandchildren; brother, Edward (Dorothy) Gregor of Whiting; numerous nieces and nephews; dear brothers and sisters-in-law. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Gregor; sister, Martha Christof. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 15, 2006 9:30 AM at the Baran Funeral Home, 1235 119 th St., Whiting. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00 AM at the Immaculate Conception Church, Whiting with the Rev. Gregory P. Holicky officiating. Interment Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrllville. Visitation at the funeral home Wednesday from 2-5 and 7-9 PM. Mary Holicky was born on August 15, 1917 in Whiting, IN to John and Anna (Pieter) Gregor and was a life long resident. A member of the Immaculate Conception Church Whiting, the St. Ann's Sodality (prayers Wednesday 4:00 PM) and the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Assoc. Br. 452. She was a graduate of Whiting High School, class of 1935 and was a former employee of Standard Oil Company with a service of eight years before becoming the devoted homemaker and mother that she was. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the St. Lawrence Seminary Mt. Calvary, WI. would be appreciated. 219-659-4400
