Ruth A. Benedict

Ruth A. Larson-Benedict (nee Barrett) Hobart, IN Ruth A. Benedict (nee Barrett), age 79, of Hobart, IN, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, May 18, 2007. Ruth attended Edison High School in Lake Station, IN. On February 17, 1945, Ruth married Bernard A. Larson, who preceded her in death. She was a member of the VFW and American Legion Auxiliaries. Ruth is survived by eight children: Ted (Misty) Larson, Bud Larson, Barbara (Larry) Adams, Joseph (Lynn) Larson, Peggy Ferguson, Phyllis (Javier) Verduzco, Alice Church and Sharron Cox; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother, Bob Barrett; one sister, Kathren "Pat" Thoune; sister-in-law, Louise Barrett; and numerous close friends. Preceded in death by husband, Bernard A. Larson in 1954; daughter, Sharon Larson in 1945; and son, John Larson in 1997. Funeral services will be held Monday, May 21, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. from Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Road, Hobart, IN with Rev. Gary S. Nagy officiating. Burial at Calvary Cemetery.
