THOMAS "BUD" McALLISTER, JR. EAST CHICAGO, IN Thomas "Bud" McAllister Jr., 65, of East Chicago, IN departed this life on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 after a long illness. Tom was born in Chicago IL to his loving parents, Thomas and Dorothy McAllister. He grew up in Chicago and later moved to Gary, IN where he graduated from Roosevelt High School, class of 1970. Shortly after graduation, Tom began his professional career at Nipsco, working on the Hammond Operations team. Tom was fortunate to build lasting friendships at the job that he held until his retirement after 39 years of service. Tom leaves behind his loving wife Lori McAllister and his children, Thomas Bryant (Emily) McAllister (Anderson, IN) and his daughters Lori and Lisa McAllister (Portage, IN), Rikisha Walker (East Chicago) and Mijha (Darnell) Anderson. His brother Kenneth McAllister and sister Nancy Pate. And the precious grandchildren Kayla (Anderson, IN) Rashad, Raylan, Dayan and Danylah all of East Chicago, IN. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Divinity Funeral Home 3831 Main St. East Chicago, IN.

Dear brother in-law you are truly missed I wish I could hear you make fun of the way I talk or see u stirring around in the kitchen fixing my sister something to eat but I know you're resting in peace now no more pain brother rest in peace

I worked with Tom and have many happy stories to remember him by. My wife also worked at Nipsco and remember Tom very well. We both are saddened by his passing.
