ALAN BERNSTEIN Obituary

BERNSTEIN--Alan D., age 52, passed away on January 27, 2010. Born and raised in New York, Alan was a loving son of Marvin and Trudy, devoted husband to Janet and father to Eric and Kate, and adored brother of Steven and Gail. We will forever remember and will sorely miss Alan's unselfish love and devotion to his family, his unique intellectual gifts, and his indomitable spirit in the face of life's many challenges. Alan left us way too soon. Services will be held at Riverside Memorial Chapel, 180 West 76th Street, New York City, on Sunday January 31, 2010, at 11:30am.

Dearest Janet, Eric, and Kate, Your father, whom I knew all the years we grew up together, was a great friend and a great man. He enriched our lives with his sincerity. My prayers are with you.

My deepest thoughts and prayers go out to Janet, Eric and Kate. It was a great pleasure to know and work with Alan during my time at Dresner and years after I left the firm. Alan was as brilliant as he was kind.

Janet,Eric and Kate,

For the past 2.5 years I had the privledge of working alongside your husband and father at First Analysis.

Alan and I were partners on a couple of exciting engagements; IDEAL LIFE and Foundation Hospital Group. As a result I got to know him very well.

Professionaly, I will miss several things about Alan most dearly. He was a trusted advisor and sounding board on every major decision regarding these clients. His clear thinking and experience were invaluable. He was a true professional and clients greatly valued his advice and relationships and he was a wonderful colleague who added great value to any engagement.

Personally, I will miss his calm and thoughtful demeanor (he was unflappable), quick laugh that would come out of nowhere and his friendship.

In many ways Alan was my professional security blanket, I could pop into his office with a cup of coffee in hand and just talking to him had a calming effect.

I am better for having known Alan and my remembrances are all fond and heart-warming. We are all better for having know Alan.

My sincerest sympathies to you. While we all wanted many more years of Alan, I am grateful for my 2.5.

Warmest regards and deepest sympathies,

Ted Feierstein on behalf of my wife Christine and the Feierstein family.

Alan was a banker with whom I was honored to work. His insightfulness, dedication to clients, and determination were exceptional. I miss him greatly. My sincere condolences to his family - his passing was unexpected but his spirit remains with us.
