DELIA CANTOR Obituary

CANTOR--Delia Heming.

Passed away peacefully in her Scarsdale home on Saturday, April 22nd, 2017, 3 days shy of her 95th birthday. Delia was a gifted and lifelong teacher; she taught math at Scarsdale High School and Pace University for many years, and bridge after her retirement. In her later years, she was an avid and accomplished bridge player. She spent a month every summer on Lower Saranac Lake in the Adirondacks surrounded by family and friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 51 years, Myron Cantor, her daughter, Janet Naumburg, and her siblings, Joan Frank and Charles Heming. Mrs. Cantor is survived by her sister, Harriet Simpson, six children (Peter Naumburg, Eric Naumburg, Elizabeth Naumburg, Daniel Cantor, Jane Kauffmann and Frank Cantor), 21 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and a large devoted family. A native of New York, she graduated from Lincoln High School, Smith College (BS 1944) and Teachers College, Columbia University (MA 1961). Her most enduring legacy is the creation of an inclusive and supportive family who will greatly miss her love and guiding spirit. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Adirondack Council or the charity of your choice.
