FRANCINE FRIEDLANDER Obituary

FRIEDLANDER--Francine. On November 23, 2022, Francine Spinoza Friedlander passed away at age 90. She was the beloved wife of the late Raphael D. Friedlander, and is survived by her daughters, Debra Liberman (Roger), Vicki Reynolds (John), Vivien Friedlander Konsker, and her beloved grandchildren, Laura Hoffman (Robert), Melissa Reynolds, and Joshua Konsker (Alicia), and great-grandchildren Thomas, Jackson, and Bennett Hoffman, and Lavender and Chanan Konsker. Known as Frankie to her many friends, she was born in Boston, MA on July 11, 1932. She attended The Brimmer and May School in Boston, and Finch College in New York City. She settled in New York City before permanently moving to Great Neck, NY in 1958. She was very proud of her lineage, which could be traced back to the renowned philosopher, Baruch Spinoza, who was born in the mid 1600's and she adored her parents, Benjamin and Frances Spinoza, as well as her children and extended family. Frankie was very active in fundraising and charitable pursuits, and approached her position as an Honorary Trustee at North Shore Hospital with dedication and commitment. She also enjoyed working in real estate in her free time and was a competitive mahjong player. Frankie loved socializing and trying new restaurants, but was loyal to her favorite restaurants, where they always had a special table reserved for her. Frankie had a great love for cruising the world, and felt at home on board the transatlantic ocean liner, The Queen Mary 2, where she received an award of recognition for the milestone number of miles she had traveled on her many voyages. We called her 'unsinkable' because of her resolve, tenacity, can do attitude, and ability to maintain a positive outlook no matter what the situation. She was very much loved, and will be greatly missed by her friends and family. I was Mrs. Friedlander's Butler for many years onboard QM2. I think about her regularly and was shocked to read of her passing. She was an amazing force, a wonderful inspiration to me in my younger years on board. She wrote to me a few times back home in the U.K and always signed off fondly Mrs. F.
