HAROLD JACOBS Obituary

JACOBS--Harold, was born to immigrant parents in Williamsburg, Brooklyn in August of 1919. He passed away on November 13th. He was the founder and president of Crown Surgical Corporation, a manufacturer of surgical instruments. During World War II, he earned an E Award for meeting schedules for orders to the U.S. Military. His love of theater and opera led him to organize entertainment for troops at hospitals and USO venues here and abroad. He was active in raising funds for Israel, and a proud member of the Kane Street Synagogue in Park Slope. Hal was quite a sportsman, active in skiing, tennis and fencing. He was a collector of Egyptian, Greek and Roman antiquities. Many of his pieces have been donated to his favorite museums. Hal was devoted to his beloved wife Mildred, sister Sylvia and numerous nephews, and nieces who will remember him fondly as Uncle Heshie, a down to earth guy who cried freely, laughed heartily, and had a good life.
