HAZEL BRILLER Obituary

BRILLER--Hazel (Gluck),

99, on April 11, 2017. Beloved wife of the late Louis Briller (1977) and the late Daniel Gluck (1979). Cherished sister of the late Leonore and Mollie - Husbands: Daniel and Julius. Survived by her nieces and nephews: Martin and Ann, Warren and Jenina and their children: Joshua, Lorin, Jonathan, Rebecca, Justin and Brandon, and great-nieces Abigail and Catherine. Hazel was a lifetime fine artist and sketched portraits of servicemen at the Stage Door Canteen during World War II. She also possessed an excellent singing voice for which she received scholarships. A member of several honorary art organizations including The Art Students League, and an award-winning painter of portraits and all other subjects in competition and exhibition under name of Lezah Borell. Numerous private showings, including The Met and Lincoln Center Circle in the Round theater. Also a published poet who won awards for her work. A charming, vibrant, sophisticated woman who loved life and people, and that love was returned. She will be in our minds and hearts always! Service Sunday, April 16, 11:30am at "The Riverside," 76th St. and Amsterdam Ave.

To the Briller Family: My heartfelt sympathies go out to the family and friends during this difficult time. I hope that the promise in 1 Thessalonians 4:14 can bring comfort. Knowing that there's a hope for the ones we have lost in death can be so reassuring.
