INGE TRACHTENBERG Obituary

TRACHTENBERG--Inge (nee Wachenheimer) of Englewood, NJ on July 3, 2010, beloved wife of Mike and mother of Michael, David and Shoshanah, of blessed memory, passed away at age 86 after a long illness which she endured with characteristic dignity and boundless courage. Her strength, generosity, kindness and love enriched her family which included eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren as well as her community in which she was a forceful, visionary and dedicated leader. The author of three books and numerous short stories and poems, she opened a window to her soul and taught us how, with love and compassion, we can survive and even flourish through unspeakable horrors, whether they are engendered by the Holocaust or by family illness. Truly a role model for the modern woman, her life has been an inspiration and she will live on through the memory of all who had the good fortune of knowing her.

Mike and David - Billie and I are so sad to hear of Inge's passing. I don't have the words to describe the magnitude of importance that you have all played in our lives. So, let me just hope that you and your family find comfort in each other and the diverse and productive life that Inge led. Our thoughts are with you.
