Dear Marijo,
I'm so sorry I was unable to make Jim's "Celebration of Life." I do want to thank you for inviting me to share in your plans for Jim's Last Hurrah. Jim was gracious, friendly and always made me feel welcome -- as do you. He was a wonderful, understanding boss and all his close friends and family will certainly miss him, as will I. My deepest sympathy.

Dear Susie and Family:
Even though I only met the wonderful
man just once, he is still in my memory as one of the nicest gentlemen around. I was so glad he was able to attend his grandson's, James Hoy, and my daughters, Joann, wedding. Bill and I extend our heartfelt sympathy and prayers to all of you.

Dearest Marijo and family,

Diane and I share in the loss of your husband, father, step-father, grandfather and our friend Jim. He was a remarkable man. He gave of himself unselfishly. He was well educated, humorous, dynamic, and a pure joy to be around. Jim always treated us with respect and dignity. We hold many wonderful memories of time spent with you and Jim.
I know that I learned many things from Jim that will follow me through life. He possessed the ability to light up a room and captivate all those around him with his wonderful personality and charm. Our dinners together were some of the most enjoyable times we have ever spent. We will never forget his ability to prepare an ice cream dessert or after dinner cocktail at the dinner table.
We always admired how Jim would entertain an audience with his singing. We actually thought he was quite good and still play his CD, all the time smiling as we listen
I hold dear the memories of playing golf at the Indian Creek Golf Club and Bodega Bay Golf Club in California. (I never could beat him.) After spending a wonderful week in Bodega Bay with you and Jim, he became aware that I was afraid as hell of heights and I‘ll never forget Jim driving us down the California coast toward San Francisco and saying, “ Don’t worry coach I’ll get you there safely.” I was in the back seat and couldn’t look down or out the side window toward the ocean. (Jim was in his mid to late seventies and I was in my fifties. What a wimp I am!)
I finally met a man who enjoyed a good scotch as well as me. Jim had a fondness for most of the good spirits. I remember the time we were in Chicago sitting outside the home of Dan and Pam Zelazo in a Limo drinking scotch and watching the Notre Dame Football game as you and Diane were inside with Christine and Steve’s family making arrangements for their upcoming wedding. (Come to think of it, Jim and I had many scotches and interesting conversations in the back of limos)
The limo rides, yacht cruises, dinners, golf, Surf Club lounge, parties and all fun times we shared were all memorable events brought about by the presence of Jim Stewart. We will definitely miss him.

We love you,

WHAT AN INTERESTING MAN!!!!!! Jim was so full of life and always ready to make you laugh! After reading all the other guest book entries it is obvious that Jim touched so many lives in such a positive way. He was a great listener and always made you feel that whatever you were saying was important!!! The last time we saw Jim and Marijo was this past summer. Although Jim’s health was failing he still managed a genuine smile and a warm hello. He was truly blessed to have such a caring group of friends and family to watch over him. What more can any of us ask for in our final days than to be surrounded by those we love and those that love us!!!

Dear Marijo -
My deepest sympathy for your loss of your dear husband.
I had the great pleasure to meet and have a delightful dinner with you and Mr. Stewart a few years ago. Bob Harvieux had introduced me to both of you and I have wonderful memories of both you and Mr. Stewart. It was such a pleasure and honor to meet you and such a great man as your husband, Jim.
You are both in my thoughts and prayers.

Sincerely,

Christine McCarter

Dear Big Jim's Family,
Talk about a person that was larger than life. He knew how to travel first class and did so, often with my mother and father at hand.
He offered me a job when I was 24 and made me feel very important. My Dad and Jim both LOVED life.
Thanks to Jimmy for all he gave my family. I'm sorry I didn't get one farewell conversation with my friend.
Love and condolences to All,
Betsy Ingalls
