MARY RYAN Obituary

RYAN--Mary Ann, beloved wife of Edward W. Ryan, died peacefully at home in Manhattan on December 1, 2018 from multiple causes. Mary Ann was born in Milwaukee WI, May 1, 1935, to Richard and Agnes Lutz. After receiving an undergraduate degree in Foreign Affairs and an MS in Social Work from University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee. Mary Ann married Edward Ryan on December 29, 1962. Thus began a wonderful odyssey of 56 years, which included three sons, 12 relocations, including eight different United States cities, Rome, Italy and Geneva, Switzerland (twice) and three different careers. Mary Ann is survived by her husband, Edward, three sons and their wonderful spouses: Kevin Patrick Ryan and Pascaline Servan-Schreiber of New York City, Sean Davey Ryan and Claudine Macklin Ryan of San Francisco and Conor Kennedy Ryan and John China Young of NYC, and seven magnificent grandchildren. Bob Lutz, Mary Ann's brother of Phoenix, AZ also survives her. A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held at St. Jean Baptiste Roman Catholic Church, 76th and Lexington Ave., Manhattan on Saturday, December 15 at 11am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Calvary Hospital Hospice, Bronx, NY who were outstanding in their caring for Mary Ann in her last days. Immediately after the Funeral Mass, "A Remembrance Of Life" gathering will be held at Kevin and Pascaline's Manhattan Home.
