Milton Cahn Obituary

CAHN--Milton, 86, A life-long resident of New York City, died peacefully on November 16th, 2007. He is survived by his wife, Jeannie Litz, and his devoted sons, Brian Cahn and Stephen Litz. Milton, during his professional career, worked in the ladies apparel business, participating in the growth and success of the legendary firm, Jonathan Logan, spanning three decades from the 1950s thru the 1970s. In 1979, he co-founded Maggy London International, a ladies dress manufacturing company, with Larry Lefkowitz. He served as its chairman, and together they built a flourishing organization which today has operations throughout the world and employs approximately 500 people. Milton was an avid fisherman and loved to discuss his adventures. He was a powerful presence to all who had the good fortune to know and love him, an Icon in the apparel industry and the ultimate perfectionist. A mentor to many, he taught the virtues of fair business and that the commitment to fine quality can never go out of style. His inspiration and leadership will continue to inspire us all, he will never be forgotten. He leaves a rich legacy of love and devotion to his family, partners, friends and business associates. A memorial service will be held on Monday November 19th, at Riverside Memorial, 180 West 76th Street, at 9.30am. The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to The American Heart Association.

I admired Milton and treasure the things he has taught me and my family. He was always there to offer advice if I needed it. I will be forever grateful for the time and knowledge I got from Milton. His family will forever be a part of my life, to me they are family.
