I am deeply saddened by the passing of my friend, my mentor and former boss, Mr. B, who gave me my job and believed in me. Not a day goes by that I do not see the results of his hard work. It is a great privilege to have a part in continuing his work and all of the lessons that he taught me. To his beloved Nina and family I send my deepest condolences. I will greatly miss my friend.

For what is it to die but to stand naked in the wind and to melt into the sun?
And what is to cease breathing, but to free the breath from its restless tides, that it may rise and expand and seek God unencumbered?
Only when you drink from the river of silence shall you indeed sing.
And when you have reached the mountain top, then you shall begin to climb.
And when the earth shall claim your limbs, then shall you truly dance.
Kahlil Gibran speaks so eloquently.........

Dear Nina, Peter, Amy, Laura and clan,
I'm in California and heard the sad news. I've always thought of you all as extended family and feel that the world is diminished with the loss of yet another member of that family. I will treasure memories of his fighting spirit and his dry sense of humor. Sending you all my love, wishing you only the best of memories, hoping to hug you all in person when we return to NY.

Sorry to hear about Ted. And sorry I haven't been in touch with you these many years. I have fond memories of both of you.

Sandy and I are deeply saddened by Ted's passing. When I first met Ted, 25 years ago, he was one of my first labor clients. It was through the many lessons that I learned from Ted as he carried out his duties to the ILGWU Funds, that I decided to focus on labor for my career. As our professional relationship grew into a friendship, I continued to learn from Ted. He always set great examples. We will miss him very much. Our sincerest condolences to Nina, Peter, Kevin and the entire Bernstein family.

I would like to express my deepest condolences to the entire Bernstein family. The best way for me to honor Mr. Bernstein’s memory is to share the sound advice that Mr. Bernstein shared with me as I began my legal career. Mr. Bernstein told me to find something that made me happy and stand up for my rights and not accept anything less than respect from my colleagues in an environment that can sometimes be cut-throat. Clearly, these are principles that Mr. Bernstein followed in his own life and career as he fought for what he believed in, all while commanding well-deserved respect from his colleagues, friends and family. I was fortunate to recently share time with Mr. Bernstein and Nina and will cherish those memories. This world was blessed to have him and has suffered a great loss. Please accept my deepest sympathy for the loss of Mr. Bernstein.
