David Mendez

1982 - 2017

ODESSA - David Mendez, 35, of Odessa, was abruptly taken to his Heavenly home on Thursday, July 27, 2017 as a result of a car accident in Midland County. He began his earthly journey in Odessa on April 15, 1982, one of three sons born to Jorge and Guadalupe (Hernandez) Mendez. He married Heidi Lujan in Odessa on January 9, 2004. Their only daughter, Biridiana was born August 6, 2004. David professed an occupation as an oilfield mechanic. He was a graduate of the Career Center in 2000.

David was a loving husband and compassionate father. He was identified by his friendly smile and his spontaneous wit. His hobbies included camping, fishing and football. He was a passionate aficionado of the San Francisco 49ers.

Those left to cherish his love and memory are his wife: Heidi Mendez; daughter: Biridiana Mendez; parents: Jorge and Lupita Mendez; maternal grandmother: Lupe Hernandez; parents-in-law: Francisco and Maria Lujan; brothers: Jorge Luis Mendez and wife Marlena and Raul Mendez and wife Sabrina; all of Odessa. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins who will miss him dearly.

Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Monday, July 31, 2017 at Acres West Funeral Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:00 pm at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church on Tuesday, August 1, 2017.
