Janice Wright Obituary

CRANE - Janice Marie Wright passed away on February 12, 2018 at the age of 76. Janice is survived by her loving husband Wade, of Crane; her daughter Janalynn Daniell and her husband Wayne both of Crane; and her son Blaine and his wife Maria of Austin. Janice was also blessed with 4 grandchildren, Jordan Clack of Crane, Samantha Daniell of Crane, and Darby and Preston Wright of Austin. She had one great-granddaughter, Jentri Clack of Crane.

Janice was born on February 7, 1942, in Ballinger, Texas, to Ed C. "Slim" Bolf and Lorena Bolf. She was blessed with 10 brothers and sisters. Marjorie Arp, James Bolf, Doris Husband, Stevie Bolf, and Joe Ann Bolf have all preceded Janice in death. She is survived by Betty Jane Porter of Albuquerque, Melton Bolf of San Diego, CA, Charles Ray Bolf of Lake Amistad, TX, Sharon Lawler of Abilene, Texas, and Scotty Bolf of Marshall, Texas. As might be expected with so many brothers and sisters, there are a whole bunch of nieces and nephews, too many to list here.

Janice married Wade Allen Wright of Wink, Texas on June 5, 1965. Their marriage lasted 52 years until her passing. After marrying in Kermit, Texas, the newlyweds moved to Crane Texas where they would make their home until the present day. Janice and Wade were both active in the First United Methodist Church, and they attended many school and community functions in Crane over years.

Janice attended school in Kermit, Texas and graduated from Kermit High School in 1962. She then attended nursing school and graduated with a diploma from Shannon Nursing School in San Angelo, Texas in 1964. Janice was a registered nurse for many years, and acted as staff nurse, scrub nurse, surgical nurse, OB nurse, ER nurse, Director of Nursing and administrator of Crane Memorial Hospital until her retirement in the early 1990's. She was dedicated to her nursing career and put in many nights and evenings, and she always had a soft spot in her heart for the "girls up at the hospital" as she always referred to her co-workers. She loved reading, sewing, and traveling, and her witty sense of humor was never too far away.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of McCamey Convalescent Center and Hospital where Janice spent the last several months. She was well cared for and the staff was always kind and friendly.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 16, 2018 at First United Methodist Church in Crane, Texas.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home of Crane.
