Seems like a couple of summers ago that Ray and I were fishing over by his and BJ's house in San Angelo, though more than 30 summers have come and gone since then....
I have so many fond memories of him, Barbara Jo, Brent and Traci and the countless hours that I spent in their house.
There was always music...
Mom, BJ and Ray rehearsing, Traci and I blaring music in her bedroom, singing at the top of our voices to the Eagles, Brent rattling the windows with the two 15" Peavey amps he had in his car for speakers...lolol
BJ playing music in the "big bathroom" while taking HOURS to get ready for work...
I'm pretty sure Ray, BJ and Brent are making beautiful music together in heaven as Tom T. Hall once said:
"Well, I know there's a lotta big preachers that know a lot more than I do,
But it could be that the good Lord likes a little pickin' too...."
Those who are remembered never die... they live in our hearts forever.

We became great friends through our love of music in the early 1970's. Ray was not only a great musician & singer - He was a genuinely good man. We have many great memories. Ray leaves behind many musicians that he mentored through the years. He will be missed by all of us.
Our condolences go out to his family.
Thank you Leon for a heartfelt service.

Ray will be missed greatly! I remember being a little girl with my Parents( Hoot and Linda Gibson) and Ray out in my dad's recording studio. There were always lots of laughs and good times.

He was such a gentleman in every way. A nice man in a industry where being nice is not always rewarded.
