John D. Ross, 70, of Scenery Hill, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2023, in Washington Health System, Greene.
He was born April 8, 1953, in Washington, a son of the late Frank D. Ross and Betty T. Lonigro Ross, who survives.
John was a 1971 graduate of Mon Valley Catholic High School and earned a bachelor's degree in Child Psychology from Penn State University.
John began his working career in self-employed construction and was later employed with 18 Karat Construction for over 20 years.
Mr. Ross was a member of St. Katharine Drexel Parish, Bentleyville Campus.
An outdoorsman, he loved hunting, fishing and mushroom picking in his favorite secret spots. He also enjoyed football and hockey.
On June 11, 1977, he married Tami Igou Ross, who survives. They celebrated 46 years of marriage.
Surviving, in addition to his mother and wife, are two daughters, Sarah Black (Harrold) of Bentleyville and Anne Ross of Scenery Hill; two sons, John Ross of Scenery Hill and David Ross of Bentleyville; two grandchildren, Elizabeth and Olivia Black; two brothers, Lanny Ross (Chris) of Vero Beach, Fla. and Frank Ross (LaDonna) of Sinnamahoning; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, in the Greenlee's Bentleyville Funeral Home, 619 Main Street, Bentleyville, where a Blessing Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, with Father Dilio Onyejiuwa officiating. Interment will follow in Beallsville Cemetery.
