Rose Roman, 91 of Muse passed away peacefully Tuesday, December 27, 2022, in her home, with her family by her side.
She was born February 9, 1931, in Muse a daughter of the late Rodolfo DeGenova and Amelia DelVecchio Lucrezi.
Rosie was a graduate of Cecil High School class of 1949 and prior to her retirement, after 35 years she had been employed as an assembler at the former RCA plants in both Canonsburg and Meadowlands.
She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and a faithful, lifelong member of Holy Rosary Roman Catholic church of St. Oscar Romero Parish where she was a member of the Christian Mothers, Alter Society and seniors' luncheons. Rose was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Muse Independent Club.
She was a very generous and selfless person that enjoyed helping raise her grandson, who was her pride and joy, and most of all being called Roman's Nana.
On May 16, 1953, she married Raymond J. Roman who passed away December 10, 2019, after 66 years of marriage.
Left behind to cherish her memory is her beloved and devoted grandson, Roman Quinn (Karly Krelic); and her great-grandpup Bear the Newfoundland of Joffre; her two sisters, Valia (Chuck) DiVitis of Palm Springs, Calif. and Katherine Lemon of Muse; her good friend Toni Zombeck of Muse and several nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to her husband and parents is her daughter Angela M. Roman Shemiloff who passed away September 9, 2019, her two brother Frank "Little Boy" DeGenova who passed away June 16, 2018, and William (Gugleamo) DeGenova, her sister Milda "Muzzy" Bernardi who passed away May 18, 2019, and her stepfather Alfredo Lucrezi. Roman and Karly would like to thank the OSPTA Hospice staff for their care and compassion to their family.
Friends and family are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday December 30, 2022, in Salandra Funeral and Cremation services, Inc. Joseph P. Salandra LFD owner/supervisor 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg, 724-745-8120 where departing prayers will be recited at 9:20 a.m. Saturday December 31, 2022. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St Oscar Romero Parish Holy Rosary Church, Muse. Entombment will follow in the Notre Dame Mausoleum of Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Peters Twp. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rose's name may be made to Holy Rosary Church St. Oscar Romero Parish.
