Ann Anderson Obituary

Ann M. Anderson, age 49, of Concord Twp. passed away unexpectedly Saturday, January 5, 2013 at University Hospital in Cleveland.

Born February 21, 1963 in Akron, she had lived in Akron before moving to Concord Twp. 25 years ago. Mrs. Anderson was a second grade school teacher at St. Mary of the Assumption School in Mentor for 15 years.

Survivors are her husband, James Anderson; children, Jonathan, Christopher and Meghan Anderson; mother, Frances Yahner of Stow; four sisters, Julie (Caryn Thornburg) Panis of Tracy, California, Mary (Joe) Hassing of Littleton, Colorado, Jean (Carl) Rakich of Medina and Catherine (David) Murdock of Akron; mother and father-in-law, Marilyn and Bob Anderson of Copley; two brothers-in-law, Mike (Chris) Anderson of Kenner, Louisiana and Rick (Cindi) Anderson of Monroe Falls. She is also survived by many other loving family members and friends and will be missed by her pomeranian "Poochie."

She was preceded in death by her father, Alvin Yahner and her brother Thomas Yahner.

A mass of Christian burial will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 8560 Mentor Ave., Mentor. The family will receive friends from 3 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor. Private family inurnment will be held in All Souls Cemetery at a later date. Contributions may be made in memory of Ann M. Ann and I met at The University of Akron back in the 80's. We were in the same 8 a.m. class and became very good friends. Her son Jon and my son Matt were babies together. We would take them swimming and soak up the sun. I always knew she would become a wonderful teacher. Her family meant the world to her. Ann was a beautiful person, inside and out. I always enjoyed our visits and Christmas cards. My prayers go out to the Anderson and Yahner families.

Jimmy and children,
I met Ann when we were both hired together at Huntsburg School in 1989. I remember many laughs and long conversations. i also remember how proud she was after giving birth to her "jon-a-man" and how she senta video to school so her class could meet him. Over the years, we have run into each other and I was always struck by her positive energy and beautiful eyes.

My daughter, Olivia had Mrs. Anderson as a teacher this year and boy did she love her as her teacher!! She seemed to always have a beautiful smile on her face. She loved my girl and took such great care of her during the day!!
I feel so blessed to have have had her in not only my daughter's life, but mine as well, even if it was cut way too short. Olivia misses her so much, but I have told her that she is watching over her always.

A Facebook friend (and former neighbor) in Akron just told me the sad news. I have fond childhood memories of Ann and the Yahner family when they lived on Roswell in Akron. We lost contact after they moved to W. Akron but I often wondered about the family. I see that Ann grew up to become a loving and beautiful woman.
