Darla Fielding Obituary
Darla J. Fielding, 72, went to be with the Lord on March 9, 2015.
Mrs. Fielding was a school teacher for many years with Norton, Akron Public Schools and Shatto Academy and was an active member of Montrose Zion United Methodist Church. She also taught private piano lessons and enjoyed golfing, bowling and hiking.
Preceded in death by her husband, Walt, she is survived by her children, Rob, Roy and Kristin; five grandsons; sister, Laura Miller; sister-in-law, Karin Yothers; a niece and a nephew. The family would like to thank the entire staff at the Arden Courts of Bath for the love and care shown to Darla.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. FRIDAY at Montrose Zion United Methodist Church, with Dr. Walter S. Chisholm officiating. Interment at Crown Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. THURSDAY (TODAY) at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., and one hour prior to the service on FRIDAY at the church. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to Montrose Zion UMC, 565 N. Cleveland- Massillon Rd., Akron 44333. We are saddened to hear of Darla's passing. She was a sweet and kind lady and we enjoyed spending time with her when she led our church bell players. Anne, Leo, Emily & Allison Storey.

Rob,Roy,Kristin, and families: My love and prayers are with each of you at this sad time. Darla was so faithful in serving M-Z and the church. I remember the years she was the Sunday School teacher for the young married class. I will never forget the one class social we attended at your folks home and none knew what we were in for. A Mystery Dinner! What a night! I also remember you kids in Junior Church and how you all participated so faithfully. From the Psalms, "Blessed in the sight of the Lord is the death of His Saints."
