Dave "The Slave" McCullough, 87, of Eastwood, passed away Monday at St. Joseph's Hospital. He was born on June 16, 1925 in Syracuse the son of the late David T. and Grace McCullough. Mr. McCullough had worked in automotive service for Bill Rapp for over 30 years and had also worked for the U.S. Postal Service and was also a courier. He was a veteran of the Marine Corps during WWII, had served on Iwo Jima, and was a member of the Third Marine Division. He was also a former baseball coach for the Babe Ruth league. He was predeceased by his wife, Geraldine and nephew, George LaRose.
Survived by his two sons, Terry (Linda) of East Syracuse, Randy (Cheryl) of Camillus; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a niece, Sheila (Dave) Turverey.
Calling hour will be 10 to 11 a.m. at Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 8, followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
