Floyd Lee Obituary

Floyd H. Lee

Floyd H. Lee entered into rest on December 10, 2014 at Akron General Hospital after a brief illness. He was born on December 7, 1919 in Standish Michigan.

He was the son of Floyd D. Lee and Olivia Jane Bacon Lee. He was a 1941 graduate of the Michigan Technological University with a B. S. in Mining and Engineering. Called into service in July 1941, he served in the U.S. Army as a Combat Engineer Officer in the Pacific until July of 1945 and was discharged in October of that year. His battle stars were at Oahu, Dec. 7th, Saipan and Okinawa. He married Ann T. Damask in November of 1945, who preceded him in death (along with two infant children). He is the beloved father of seven children; David (lorri) Sparks, of Nevada, Sharon Bates (James) of North Canton, Ohio, Gary (Kathy) Robinson of Texas, Robert of Mt. Trempor New York, Timothy (Victoria) Escanaba of Michigan, Susan of Marysville, Ohio and Richard (Christine) of North Canton, Ohio; additionally he is survived by sixteen grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Following his military service, his working career led him to Bolivia, Minnesota, Missouri, Michigan and finally to Cleveland, Ohio. After thirty-two years of service with M.A. Hanna, he retired as a Senior Vice-President in 1981. After living in Henderson, North Carolina for eighteen years he and Ann moved to Fairlawn, Ohio in 2001 in order to be closer to their children.

Private Memorial service will be held. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established at Doctors without Borders, 333 Seventh Ave., 2nd Floor, New York, N. Y. 10061.
