Marie Nofsinger

Marie Nofsinger joined her dear husband, Hoyt, in heaven on June 26, 2015.

Hoyt had gone on before her this past December 2, 2014. They shared a deep love, unity of purpose and dedication for each other in their 69 years of marriage.

Marie was born on May 17, 1925 to John and Alice Mahan in Akron, Ohio. She married her devoted husband on February 16, 1946. She was known by all for her quick wit, high energy and love of sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Always cheerful and upbeat, a favorite Proverb she loved to quote was "A merry heart doeth good like a medicine." Prov.17:22

She worked for years in home sales and was loved by her clients, friends and family. A charter member of West Hill Baptist Church, she served in many capacities over the years. Prayer, Bible study and memorizing Scriptures were part of her daily life.

She is survived by her three children, Terrie (Don) Ferrell of Hampshire, Ill., Jim (Brenda) Nofsinger of Princeton, W. Va., Cathy Shafer of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Brent, Lisa, Greg, Amy, Lori, Jenny, Stephen and Amanda; 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Greeting her in heaven is her husband, Hoyt; her parents; brothers, John Robert and Richard; sister, Celeste; great-grandson, Tyler Thyng and Howard and Hazel Nofsinger.

Calling hours 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Ciriello and Carr Funeral Home, 39 S. Miller Rd. in Fairlawn.

Funeral services 11 a.m. Wednesday at West Hill Baptist Church, 605 N. Revere Rd. in Akron, where friends may call 10 a.m. until service time. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park.
