Barbara Crowder Obituary

Barbara June Crowder was born October 28, 1937 in Houston, Texas to Janie Mae (Hodge) and Lyn Harris Beale. Barbara graduated High School in Houston, Texas and had three years of education at Central State University. She moved to Oklahoma City in 1984 from Altus. Barbara was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church, The Hope Group, and Down Hill Grannies. She enjoyed snow skiing, gardening and snorkeling. She had a free spirit, loved her children and grandchildren to obsession, enjoyed practical jokes, worked way too hard, laughed often, and never remarried after the passing of her husband. She passed away May 30, 2006 at 68 years of age. Survivors include her sons Raymond Melvin Crowder, III of Sarasota, Florida, Douglas Scott Crowder of Norman, Stephen Franklin Crowder of Crescent; daughter Kimberly Ann Drye and her husband Ken of Oklahoma City; 5 grandchildren Jacob Crowder, Lindsey Crowder, Scott Crowder, Konner Drye, Kaitlyn Drye; numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond Melvin Crowder, Jr. of Blanchard and her parents. Services will be held at 9:00 a.m., Saturday, June 3, 2006 at the Eisenhour Chapel in Blanchard. Pastor Lawrence Neisent will officiate with interment held in the Blanchard Cemetery. Arrangements made by Eisenhour Funeral Home, Blanchard.

I could always count on laughter to be abundant when I went to Barbara's house. Barbara, Kim and I had so much fun "doing nothing" together...what a special lady! I will miss you, Barbara!
