Geneva Green Obituary

Geneva Mae Green, born April 19, 1915, to George and Alma Smith, in Beaver, OK. God took our precious Mother on January 20, 2008. She was 92. Geneva was married to Quentin E. Green for 60 years before his heavenly trip in 1997. She was a member of the Nazarene Church for most of her adult life. Her home church was Midwest City Community Church of the Nazarene. She loved singing in the choir and being a part of all the plays for Easter and Christmas. She was always there if the doors were open; from janitor to board member, Mom and Dad served any position as needed. Geneva had a direct line to God when praying. She will be greatly missed by her church family. She also worked along side Quentin in any job that came along. They shared 39 years with State Farm; she was his private secretary. She was a teacher of all sorts; taught in a one room school house, many Sunday School classes, and majored in Home Economics. Our mother loved sewing, cooking, gardening, and being with her grandchildren, family & friends. Geneva is survived by daughters, Karen SchulzCope and son-in-law Michael of Midwest City, Gaynelle Dieball and son-in-law Larry of Yukon; grandchildren, Quentin & Shawn Clark, Fawntella & Tim Nollen, Jonathan, Michael, Justin Dieball; great-grandchildren, Blayne & Kameron Clark, Sierra & Dakota Nollen; 1 brother, Harry Smith of Grove, OK, 1 sister, Irene Skikas and brother-in-law John of Seal Beach, CA. She was preceded in death by brothers, Ray Smith, Emory Smith; sisters-in-law, Maxine Smith and Dorthy Smith; parents, George and Alma Smith. She left behind a tremendous amount of loving family, and so many friends. The family is grateful for all the loving care given to Mom from the Ranchwood Nursing Center in Yukon, especially Robbie with his strong hands. Many thanks to family and friends for their love, support, and prayers. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 24, 2008, at Midwest City Community Church of the Nazarene with interment at Arlington Memory Gardens.

Geneva was a very special sister-in-law. Quentin was the oldest of my brothers and sisters and I am the "baby" of the family. My earliest recollections of them probably was living nearby in Guthrie. I always enjoyed visiting their home. Karen is just 4 years younger than I am and Gaynell was the flower girl at our wedding. Our thoughts and prayers are still with the family in sensing this loss of their dear Mother and Grandmother.

Geneva was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and "great-grandmother" and sister-in-law to me. Quentin was the "Alpha" and I was the "Omega" of the Green family, so I never lived with him in the home as I grew up, but I visited their home many times and those were great memoriable times. Geneva was a stolward Christian lady. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family today as they had her home going service and days ahead as they feel that loss and void, but Heaven is richer today. Ron and Carol McGilvra.

Geneva was a great lady. She always had a wonderful combination of dignity and warmth to her. We are sorry for your loss. It makes heaven that much sweeter.

When I remember my Aunt Geneva, I remember a woman that was classy. She carried herself with grace and style. I know she had a deep love of her Lord and her and Uncle Quentin's example in their lives has passed down to not only their children and grandchildren but also to those who were their nieces and nephews. Please know we are praying for all of you.
